Rapid identification of Enterococcus faecalis, Enterococcus faecium & other Enterococci from positive blood cultures.
E. faecalis/OE PNA FISH provides rapid identification of E. faecalis, E. faecium & Other enterococci (OE), directly from GPCPC*-positive blood cultures in just 90 minutes. The test enables microbiology labs to alert clinicians about E. faecium bacteremia and the high likelihood of vancomycin and/or ampicillin resistance 2-3 days sooner than with conventional methods.1,2 This, in turn, helps clinicians ensure early, appropriate antimicrobial therapy for patients with enterococcal bacteremia.
