Thais T. Johansen, MBA

Mr. Johansen has been President & CEO of AdvanDx since he co-founded the company in 2002 and brings extensive experience from positions he has held within business development and sales & marketing in the medical and scientific industies. Mr. Johansen was Director of Finance and Business Development of Boston Probes, in charge of all financing activities, and in 2001 was instrumental in the $38 million sale of the company to Applied Biosystems. Following the sale of Boston Probes, he became a member of Applied Biosystems business development group until founding AdvanDx.

Prior to Boston Probes, Mr. Johansen was a Senior Marketing Manager in the worldwide scientific imaging group at Polaroid Corporation where he developed the global business strategy for the $80 million scientific imaging business. He worked in direct sales for Vicare Medical A/S, a distributor of Hewlett Packard Medical Equipment (now part of Siemens Medical).

Mr. Johansen holds a BA in chemistry from Boston University and an MBA from Babson College.


Henrik Stender, Ph.D.

Dr. Stender is cofounder of AdvanDx and responsible for all aspects related to the company's research and development of diagnostic kits.

Prior to founding AdvanDx, Dr. Stender was Director of Microbiology at Boston Probes, which was acquired by Applied Biosystems in 2001. Dr. Stender has 10 years of experience developing diagnostic test kits. Before joining Boston Probes in 1998, he was project manager at DAKO and inventor of the first PNA-based test for infectious diseases. For the past 5 years he has spearheaded the development of the PNA technology for diagnostic microbiology. During this period, he has transitioned PNA from an academic curiosity to a powerful diagnostic tool as supported by several patent applications, publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and presentations at international scientific meetings.

Dr. Stender holds a M.Sc. in chemical engineering and a Ph.D. in immunology, both from the Technical University of Denmark and he received his Bachelor degree in commerce from Copenhagen Business School.

Jack T. Johansen, Ph.D.

Dr. Johansen was cofounder of Boston Probes and in his role as the company's CEO and President he was responsible for corporate strategic planning, corporate growth, and organizational policy. He has played the primary role in identifying PNA business opportunities and in developing the Company's commercialization strategy, including the negotiation of application-strategic partnerships.

Prior to founding Boston Probes, Dr. Johansen was Senior Vice President, Science and Technology, at Millipore Corporation, the worldwide leader in the manufacture of separation products. During Dr. Johansen's tenure from 1987-1994, the Company's sales increased from $500 million to $800 million and the R&D budget increased from $35 million to $68 million. As a corporate executive, he served as President of MilliCorp, Millipore's $20 million venture fund, and as President of Millipore's Biosearch Division, where he began advancing the PNA technology. In this role, he managed a staff of 250 people in sales, marketing, R&D, and manufacturing with operations in the United States, Europe, and Japan.

Dr. Johansen is also a cofounder of several biotechnology companies including CarlBiotech, Peptech and Boston Biosystems, which was sold in the spring of 2000 to Avecia. In addition, Dr. Johansen is a member of the Board of Directors of Symphogen A/S, 7TM Pharma A/S and Protein Forest, Inc.


Hans Andreasson, M.Sc., MBA.

Mr. Hans Andreasson is a senior partner with Scandinavian Life Science Venture, a leading Scandinavian private equity investor. In 1999 he co-founded Innoventus, one of the entities of Scandinavian Life Science Venture.

Prior to this Mr. Andreasson worked for Pharmacia & Upjohn Diagnostics where he served as Vice President, General Manager of the Autoimmunity business and Vice President Business Development & Legal Affairs. Before joining Pharmacia & Upjohn he was a management consultant with Arthur D Little. During these tenures he has had broad international exposure with several expatriate positions.

He is the chairman of the board of Innoventus Project AB and a board member of Aerocrine AB, Clinical Data Care AB and Quiatech AB.

Mr. Andreasson holds an MBA from INSEAD, France, a Masters degree in chemical engineering from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden and an M.Phil. in chemical engineering from Bradford University, UK.


Anders Hove, M.D., MBA.

Anders D. Hove is a General Partner at Venrock Associates. Mr. Hove joined Venrock in January 2004 and is focused on investments in biotechnology and medical devices.

Mr. Hove was most recently CEO of Bellevue Asset Management and had responsibility for managing BB Biotech, an investment company with $1.6 billion invested in public and private biotech companies. In this capacity, Mr. Hove led numerous transactions in both private and public companies and he is a former director of The Medicines Company, Inc.; Eyetech Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Virologic, Inc.

Before joining Bellevue Asset Management, Mr. Hove held executive positions with the medical and clinical department and later with business operations of the pharmaceuticals division of Ciba-Geigy (later: Novartis).

Currently, Mr. Hove is a director of AdvanDx, Inc. and a Trustee of the Crown Prince Frederik's Fund. He has an MSc in biotechnology engineering from The Technical University of Denmark, an M.D. from The University of Copenhagen and an MBA from INSEAD.


Sture Segetorp

Sture Segetorp is Executive Vice President, Global Sales & Marketing at Phadia AB, formerly Pharmacia Diagnostics AB, where he joined in 1989. Phadia AB is the worldwide leader in the development, manufacturing and marketing of in vitro tests for allergy and autoimmunity diseases. Mr. Segetorp is heading all 18 Market Companies around the world, Central Marketing in Uppsala, Sweden and the Autoimmunity Division in Freiburg, Germany. He is heading a total of 570 people.

Mr. Segetorp has a background as an analytical chemist but has spent the last 28 years within sales and marketing and the last 15 within the international arena with focus on Europe, Japan and USA.

Prior to this, Mr. Segetorp was Vice President and Business Unit Manager at KEBO Lab AB, a Swedish distributor of reagents and systems for research and clinical laboratories.
