Solutions Overview
AdvanDx provides a range of rapid diagnostic solutions that enable hospitals to improve the quality of care for patients with critical infections. We work with key hospital stakeholders to identify specific areas for improvement and then help to implement PNA FISH® tests as part of an integrated quality improvement solution. These solutions include:
- Antimicrobial Stewardship Programs (ASPs): Integrating rapid PNA FISH results into hospital ASPs to shorten time to appropriate therapy, avoid unnecessary antibiotic use, improve patient outcomes and lower hospital costs.
- Blood Culture Contamination: Early identification of Coagulase-Negative Staph contaminated blood cultures to avoid unnecessary antibiotic use, shorten length of stay and lower hospital costs.
- Staphylococcal Bacteremia: Rapid identification of S. aureus and Coagulase-Negative Staph to shorten time to appropriate therapy and improve patient outcomes.
- Enterococcal Bacteremia: Rapid identification of Enterococcus faecium and other enterococci that are often resistant to vancomycin (VRE), as well as ampicillin, to reduce time to appropriate therapy and lower mortality rates.
- Gram-Negative Bacteremia: Early identification and differentiation of E. coli, K. pneumoniae and P. aeruginosa to ensure early and appropriate anti-Pseudomonal antibiotic coverage while avoiding prolonged broad-spectrum antibiotic use.
- Candidemia: Rapid identification of Candida species to support early selection of antifungals (fluconazole vs. echinocandin)
