Biofilms

Biofilms have been found to be involved in a wide variety of microbial infections in the body.  Understanding biofilm formation and its role in infectious processes is key to developing new diagnostic and therapeutic solutions for treating critical infections.  Because PNA FISH provides whole cell visualization of bacteria and fungi, the technology is ideally suited for understanding the interaction between microbes in complex biofilms.

PNA FISH Advantages:
  • Genus and Species Identification

  • Three Dimensional Spatial Distribution

  • Quantification
