E. faecalis/OE PNA FISH provides rapid identification of E. faecalis, E. faecium & Other Enterococci (OE), directly from GPCPC-positive blood cultures in just 90 minutes.
The test enables microbiology labs to alert clinicians about E. faecium bacteremia and the high likelihood of vancomycin and/or ampicillin resistance 2-3 days sooner than with conventional methods. This, in turn, helps clinicians ensure early, appropriate antimicrobial therapy for patients with enterococcal bacteremia.
